How to use these prompts

Prompts

  1. Today in 1922 saw the birth of one Douglas Corrigan, who, after taking off from New York allegedly bound for LA, went the wrong way and landed in Ireland, became known as Douglas "Wrong Way" Corrigan. Write a story about someone who goes the wrong way.
  2. "Man's love is of man's life a thing apart; 'tis a woman's whole existence." Lord Byron
  3. It's Answer your Cat's Question Day. Imagine your cat (or a cat belonging to someone else if you don't have one) is granted the power of speech for a day. What question does it ask? How do you, or the cat's owner, reply?
  4. In 1328, a storm destroyed part of the coastal town of Dunwich giving rise to a legend that several churches were drowned, and that their ghostly bells can still be heard under the sea during storms. Write a ghost story incorporating this legend.
  5. It's Sock It To Me Day. Write a story featuring a sock. Or socks.

Character Traits
  • Attach importance to their inner, spiritual development. Especially drawn to experimenting with altered states of consciousness and threshold states.
  • Idealistic and impressionable.
  • Tend to be moody.
  • They may inherit a high social position, or become successful in their work. However, there is also a chance that they will use dishonest means to acquire their wealth. A leadership position is likely, possibly even high office; but they may retire under a cloud.
