- It's St Nicholas Eve, where in some parts of Europe children put out their stockings and shoes to get gifts from him. There's also a demonic type of St Nicholas called Krampus, said to be an orphan St Nicholas raised, so he dresses in a similar way, only darker. He's the one who leaves coal for bad children, or, if they're really bad, carries children off in a sack. Write a story in which Father Christmas goes bad, or is replaced by an evil version. It can be a fairy tale or a horror story.
