  1. It's Alfred Hitchcock's birthday. Have a go at writing a suspense story.
  2. "Revenge is sweet and not fattening." Alfred Hitchcock
  3. It was Friday the 13th...
  4. The first fully ripe blackberries appear today, on average. Write a story about some people going out blackberrying.
  5. It's cowardly lion day. Write a story featuring an animal which does not live up to its reputation. A cowardly lion being just one possibility. How about a courageous mouse, a forgetful elephant or a lazy honeybee?
