Prompts

  1. It's Romance Day. Write a love story.
  2. "Why is it we don't always recognise the moment when love begins, but we always know when it ends?" Steve Martin
  3. Write a story with the themes of: identification/classification; death; kinship; and/or ghosts.
  4. It's National Code Talkers Day - celebrating Native Americans who transmitted secret military messages using codes based on their native languages. Write about people who make or break codes - whether it's the Code Talkers or Bletchley Park or some other group of people you just made up.
  5. Today is the feast day of St Werenfrid of Arnheim, patron of gardeners and against stiff joints. Your character is a gardener suffering from stiff joints.

Character Traits
  • Trusting people who are often taken for a ride, sometimes by the very people they should be able to trust, such as close family members.
  • Family members may be envious of them from an early age and seek to cause them harm. However, in later life, these same people could end up paying tribute to them.
  • Persistent, hard workers who enjoy serving others. They may make a career out of serving others, possibly in the church or medical field.
  • Altruistic.
  • Honest and straightforward with both themselves and others.
  • May be forced to move or restricted in some way due to the will of other people, although not necessarily out of unkindness.
  • Can suffer from their own carelessness.
  • Karma and ties to past lives.
  • Good listeners.
  • Health problems could include diseases affecting the head such as meningitis and illnesses which progress swiftly.
  • Danger from fire.
  • May be adversely affected by gossip.
