A year of writing prompts: 13 September

How to use these prompts

A small person in a normal sized world?
Or a normal person in a giant's world?

Prompts

  1. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.” Roald Dahl
  2. It's Defy Superstition Day. Your character decides to walk under a ladder, do something important on Friday 13th, break a mirror or defy any other superstition you can think of. What happens next?
  3. It's Helicopter Day. Write a story featuring a helicopter.
  4. It's Roald Dahl's birthday. Write a spin off from one of his stories, or a re-telling with a twist. The day the oompa-loompas went on strike; Matilda as an old woman; the chocolate factory and the proposed take over by Cadbury's – you know the sort of thing.
  5. In 122 construction of Hadrian's Wall began. Centuries later it would be the inspiration for George RR Martin's wall in Game of Thrones. Write about a wall.
