Prompts

  1. Childhood is a disease. A sickness that you grow out of.” William Golding
  2. On International Talk Like a Pirate Day, write a story about pirates.
  3. In the movie Forrest Gump, it's on this date that Forrest stops running and decides to go home. Your character reaches a turning point where they decide to stop doing something, and/or decide to return home after being away for a while.
  4. On this date in 1961, Betty and Barney Hill claimed they were abducted by aliens, taken aboard their craft, probed and then let go. Write a story about alien abduction.
  5. In 1975 the first episode of Fawlty Towers was first screened in the UK. Write a story about a stay in a terrible hotel.
