Prompts

  1. Parking meters were first installed in London in 1958. Write a story featuring a parking meter.
  2. It's bubble gum day. Write a story featuring bubble gum.
  3. "Character is what you are in the dark." Dwight Moody
  4. Today is the anniversary of the birth of Sir Robert Peel, who created the modern British Police Force. Write a story about a policeman/woman.
  5. Today is sacred to Fortuna, the Greek goddess of fate and fortune, and the feast day of St Agatha, her Christian counterpart. According to folklore, today is a good day for fortune telling and divination. Write a story about a fortune teller, or alternatively, make some predictions of your own about what might happen in the world by the end of the year.

  • They may be quite solitary, possibly through choice because they can become misanthropic if they are not careful, or through circumstances, such as an illness.
