Prompts

  1. In 1387, a party of pilgrims gathered at the Tabard Inn in Southwark on the way to the shrine of Thomas Becket in Canterbury. On the way, they told stories which became The Canterbury Tales. Write a new Canterbury Tale - the bawdier and ruder the better!
  2. In 1972 Love Thy Neighbour, a controversial sitcom about a black family and a white family living next door to each other first aired. Write a story about some people who are living next door to people they are prejudiced against or have preconceived ideas about.
  3. On Scrabble Day, write a story about some people playing a game of Scrabble.
  4. "Houston, we have a problem." Apollo 13
  5. Feast of Rotten Endings. Write a story with a rotten ending.

Character Traits
  • Cheerful and optimistic.
  • Likely to find success to the North East of their birthplace.
  • Carefree and full of fun - make excellent party organisers.
  • Happy to let others take control, usually a spouse, sibling or business partner.
  • Likely to have a deep attachment or significant intimate relationship with one other person. Sexual relationships can prove to be their downfall, however.
  • Close to their families.
  • Women in particular have a need for sexual activity. If this is not channelled into a fulfilling relationship she can become judgemental and prone to excesses.
