Prompts

  1. The Grand National happens around this time. Write a story about a horse race.
  2. National Cherish an Antique Day. Write a story about a cherished antique.
  3. Today is the birthday of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. There is a railway tunnel in Wiltshire which is designed so that the sun's rays only penetrate it on this date. Write a story about this or any other structure of your choice, which is lit up by the sun just once a year. What happens at this time?

  5. In 1969, Concorde made its maiden flight. Write a story featuring Concorde or a very fast or very luxurious plane of your choice.
