How to use these prompts

Who are these people?
Are they drinking to celebrate something?
Or just enjoying a glass of wine at the end of a long day at work?




Prompts

  1. In 1997, Larry Walters won a Darwin prize for taking off in a deck chair attached to helium balloons. Write a story called "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
  2. Around this time, Look Alike Day is celebrated. Write about someone who is mistaken for someone famous, who they happen to look like, resulting in them living the famous person's life for a while.
  3. It's Nosy Neighbour Appreciation Day. Write a story about a nosy neighbour.
  4. "To imagine the unimaginable is the highest use of the imagination." Cybthia Ozick
  5. Blah Blah Blah Day - a day to do whatever it is you're being nagged to do. Write about someone who is so tired of being nagged to do something that they actually do it. What happens?

Character Traits
  • Generous, benevolent, charitable and sociable. Will make many friends.
  • Many of their friends will help them advance in their career, but there is likely to be one female figure in particular who is especially helpful.
  • May have a tendency to want to withdraw from the world and be reclusive, but they will be sought out anyway because of their talents and their magnetic and generous nature.
  • Wealth is not that important to them, but luxury and status is.
