Prompts

  1. About now is National Trails Day. Observed in the US, it's a day to celebrate hiking trails and the people who look after them. Write a story involving a group of people who go for a hike.
  2. It's Bus Stop Day. Two people are waiting for a bus...

  5. It's the birthday of modern artist Damien Hurst, famous for controversial works like pickled sharks. Your character is an artist who is exhibiting extremely odd or dubious works of art. What are they? How do people react to them?

  • Tend to be dreamy and impractical. May be reluctant to grow up.
  • Possible talent for magic or the supernatural.
  • Their lack of practical skill may be innate or may have come about as the result of an accident.
  • Good leaders and well able to get others to perform practical tasks for them.
  • Can be overbearing and egotistical.
  • May come from a wealthy or high-born family.
  • Have expensive tastes.
  • Sometimes get carried away and rush into things, and therefore gain no lasting benefit.
