Prompts

  1. It's the Festival of the Coming Ice Age. Your character is a scientist who is convinced (rightly or wrongly) that the Earth is about to be plunged into an ice age, but no-one will listen to him.
  2. It's the Day of All Heras, ie wise women. Write a story featuring a wise woman.

Character Traits
  • Likely to be healthy, wealthy and happy.
  • May receive a legacy, windfall, or honours.
  • Love nature and children, and prefer living in the country to living in a city.
  • At one with the land and the seasons and will express their spirituality through nature.
  • Oppose anything man made which interferes with nature.
  • Conservative and old fashioned, drawn to antiques and the study of history. Prefer to do things the old way.
  • Dislike change and do not easily take to new inventions.
  • Likely to have large families, possibly including twins.
  • Will have a lot of friends because they are kind, generous and open.
  • Sound moral sense and good judgement.
  • Tenacious in tackling problems.
  • Active and hard working, willing to pitch in and get their hands dirty.
  • Good learners, but are happy to observe how things work without necessarily understanding why.
  • May work on the land, in animal husbandry, botany or minerals. Philosophy, religion and the arts could attract them, as could science, metalwork or goldsmithing.
  • Tend not to learn from mistakes.
  • Tendency to dodge responsibility.
