How to use these prompts

What is the story behind this mother and child?
Is it her first? Long awaited, perhaps.
Who is the child's father? Is he around? If not, why not?



Prompts

  1. In 1977, Mario Rubio noticed that the skillet burns on her tortilla looked like the face of Jesus. She got a priest to bless it, built a shrine around it and quit her job to look after it and the thousands of pilgrims who have visited. Your character finds the face of Jesus in an unlikely place and goes public. How does it change their life?
  2. It's World Teachers Day. Write a story about a teacher.
  3. Children of the Storm.
  4. "The dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow." Robert Goddard
  5. On Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day, write a story about a rural bed and breakfast establishment.

Character Traits
  • Are skilled actors, both on the stage (theatre or film is a possible career) and in their personal lives. Can simulate emotions to get what they want, sometimes even fooling themselves.
  • If they don't have a career on the stage or in front of a camera, they are likely to be into amateur dramatics.
  • Highly likely to be dishonest.
  • Careers they might consider are dietician, psychic, social worker, writer or speaker.
  • Good mimics.
  • Refined and perceptive. May have psychic abilities.
  • Pleasant and friendly.
  • Flamboyant with a love of pageantry.
  • May be conceited and self-centred.
  • Sly and cunning, but not necessarily intelligent.
  • Have family ties which may hold them back.
  • Enjoy acting out romantic fantasies.
  • Will cling to their beliefs because security is more important to them than reality. They may attempt to force others to see the truth about things.
  • May suffer from sleep disorders.
  • Need to beware of false investments and wasting time.
