- In 1914, there was an impromptu cease fire when German and British soldiers came out of their trenches, wished each other merry Christmas, shook hands, shared food and even played football together. Sadly, they all went back to killing each other the next day. Write a story based around this event. One possibility is to speculate on how history might have changed if, the following day, those same soldiers had refused to go back to shooting at their new found friends.
