A Year of Writing Prompts: March 19

How to use these prompts

Write a story set in this village.
How do the people there live?
Do they have any contact with the modern world?

Prompts

  1. "Against the laws of nature, there is no appeal." Arthur C Clarke
  2. "I never sleep quietly in my bed on the nineteenth of March." Charles Dickens, Barnaby Rudge
  3. It's Avon Representative Day. Write a story featuring an Avon Lady.
  4. On St Joseph's Day, write a story about a man whose fiancée drops a bombshell. It doesn't have to be that she's pregnant!
  5. In 1932 Sydney Harbour Bridge was opened, although before the premier could cut the ribbon, an ex-soldier on a horse galloped up and cut the ribbon with his sabre as a protest. Write about an opening ceremony which is either sabotaged or goes horribly wrong.
